Project description

Proposed design of the service rooms at rapid transit stations does not comply with the applicable egress requirements. The alternative approach to compliance for service rooms and suites is base on the provision of these being normally unoccupied and controlled access for authorized staff, fire separation of not less than 1-hour fire-resistance rating from adjacent floor areas, provision for audible and visual notification devices for emergency notification, separate fire alarm zoning for the west service suites at concourse and platform level, and timed egress analysis for extended length of travel requirements.
