Project description

The following outlines the proposed alternative solution for the applicable building code requirements, relative to fire protection and life safety, as they relate to the Concord Adex Residential Development (Project), located at 38 Widmer in Toronto, ON.The purpose of this alternative solution is to address the OBC requirement to provide an 1800 mm wide hardsurfaced pool deck surrounding the public pool on Level 3 of this Project. The proposed public pool consists of a combined indoor pool and outdoor pool. The indoor pool will be approximately 3.83 m wide by 9.49 m long and outdoor pool will be approximately 3.09 m wide by 3.84 m long, with both portions having a uniform pool depth of 1.3m.On an alternative solution basis, it is proposed to omit the 1800 mm hard-surfaced pool deck on two sides of the indoor pool and one side of the outdoor pool. Rather, an 1800 mm hard-surfaced deck will be provided on one longer and one shorter side of the indoor public pool, and will be provided on three sides of the outdoor pool.
