Project description

The Caledonia GO Station development will provide a connection between the Barrie GO corridor and the futureEglinton-Crosstown LRT (ECLRT). The station development will be served with a single platform, and the passengerswill have egress routes from the platform level to the south through the 2 storey ECLRT building and to the westthrough Carnarvon Street. In the east direction, through a pedestrian tunnel, the passengers will have access to BowieAve. However, dead-end conditions will exist at the north part of the platform end, resulting in a commonpath of travel extending up to approximately 71 meters as shown in Figure 3-1. Since passengers cannot evacuatedirectly from the platform ends to track level, an alternative methodology is proposed to assess the common path oftravel at the GO Platform Level.
